My three dimensional work embodies a unique life and characteristic that can’t quite be expressed with my drawings or paintings. I have discovered that my favorite mediums to work in are clay and steel. I love working on the wheel in pottery, welding new forms, and using the plasma cutter to create interesting shapes in sheet metal. In my later work, I have noticed an influence of geometry and nature as underlining themes in my pieces. Often, my ideas are based around a concept found in nature, and constructed using very precise and detailed geometric forms to convey that idea. I am also extremely interested in design, and in particular, I have discovered that I am in love with the Indian and Pakistani mehndi designs using henna. These influences can be seen in my latest pottery pieces. My work is intricate, so my forms are exact and every aspect to my piece has significance.
